i just hooked up my s14 sr20det black top, it started and idled good for the first few minutes with no black smoke, then once i shut off and started again, there is loads of black smoke, engine shakes a whole bunch and it wont even idle anymore without dieing, gotta feeling its gotta do with timing

timing for sure, but it might be other problemspull out your TPS then let it run for a little bit then plug it back in and try to adjust idle. Then time the car.Do you have any vacuum leaks?

not sure i didnt have car run that long, tomorrow ima redo timing and do what you said to, so ill let ya know tomorrow.

hey could it also be from when my friend cleaned out the maf he took the tps off and put back on just don't know if he put on correct?

put it on correct? im not understanding haha?put on the TPS correctly or the MAF?

tps cause my friend he unbolted it from the throttle body or does it not matter?

my bad didnt mean to put maf in that sentence was thinking of throttle body but put maf down

the tps has to be set at a certain value i think .45 at no throttle and 5 v at wot

hey i took my valve cover off today and looked at the timing, and this is how my 2 black chain sections are when i try to line it up with the crank 2nd mark



also when its like this my cas is lined up with the orange dot to, so how would i exactly fix this? do i have to take my chain off and reposition it or wat?

mine are the ones with the red arrows
