I recently bought a 1992 240sx with the 2.4 liter. The engine had a few minor problems nothing that couldn't be easily fix. Got that done and low and behold Murfy's Law again! Now the automatic transmission is screwing up.

Problem:

The shift is fine all the way up into overdrive, but once in overdrive if you let off the gas to maintain say 70, the damn thing kicks out of overdrive and into third. Once you start to excelerate again it will kick back into OD but the second you take quiet giving it fuel, it does it again. It happens at any speed.

What I have done:

changed fluid filterChecked fluid level checked for shorts in the OD selector wiring I really need this car to run, so any ideas?

hello anyone I really need to know if someone has had this problem before, and possibly if i can fix it or if I need a new transmission? oooo more on the problem.

I drive fine going up hill in overdrive, but it kept kicking in and out of od when going downhill?

OD solenoid maybe?

Check the kickdown switches for problems. One is located at the gas pedal, the other is on the TPS.

A service manual will help you in diagnosing them http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM

Thanks I just going to replace both, better safe than sorry. Any idea where I can get some used or aftermarket interior parts?
