Well until you get a motor, there's really not much you can do. I've experienced this problem many times before on a 3000gt and si Civic but never a Z, to get the window up we just pulled up with our hands until it couldn't go on any higher, and we had to use something to stick in the weather strip so it would keep the window from randomly falling down.

I can't tell you the fix, but I do know that the last 1/4 in has to do with the door jam switch. If you've noticed. with the windows up, when you open a door the window drops 1/4 in and when you shut the door the window goes up. Check to see if your dome light is working. If not, you may have a blown fuse. Just a thought.

take off your plastic door pannel and look at your sheet of metal that has your window rails held held in place. in the middle of the three 10mm bolts holding the window motor there is a plastic piece covering the reset switch (rubber). While the door is closed (and ignition on)1. Raise the glass to the top position.2. While pressing and holding the reset switch, lower the glass tothe bottom position.3. Release the reset switch, and check the reset switch returns tothe original position, and then raise the glass to the top position while having the reset switch released.4. Open the door and see if the glass drops an inch or so.If that dosnt work somthing is in the way of your window or you need to get a new/used window motor and reset it again after instalation.
