ok wen im driving and take a turn the steering wheel sometimes gets offset to the left and when stepping on the brakes the car jerks to the side and the steering wheel gets offset again as in the car is going straight but the steering wheel is to the left, i have coilovers on and the road here is pretty bad so wen i hit a bump on the road the car jerks again then the steering wheel straightens out. i bought the car recently and when i bought it everytime i steped on the brakes the car would jerk to the side so i would have to step on it lightly but only recently the steering wheel has been getting offset when braking and sometimes taking turns. i dont know what the problem is and i cant really drive to work cuz i dont want the car to jerk to the side and i end up hitting a car or sumthin so if anyone knows what the problem is help would really be appreciated thx. n merry christmas

could be a control arm but it wouldnt be jerky like your saying. Check out your tie rods or your steering linkage. Was this car in an accident before you got it. Check the obvious things first then if that seems alright go deeper. Hope this helps

If your tie rods are bad that will cause your car steering and wheels to kinda go in a different way. If you hit a bump your tire isnt tight from a bad tie rod that would cause your car to move to the side.

My S12 did the same thing when the ball joints were going out. Does your front end make a popping sound?

sounds like you might have a worn brake pad on one side aswell. most of the time its the side it pulls to when you brake. unless its totaly gone.make sure you check them too.

oh and please post what the topic is on your thread. insted of putting "help!!!" put somthing like steering problem or "steering problem HELP!!!!" est est..

Its your balljoints. Usually when this happens the little nut that tightens down on the balljoint has backed off and is only held on by the pin. Your balljoints may not even be bad. however i would replace them anyway. very dangerous to drive around like that. I've had two or three do it to me.
