what exactly is wrong? I'm sure there are enough people on here that could help you troubleshoot it. hell, I found that my ecu was partly busted because it wasn't grounding out my relay signal. If I of all people can find that, I'm sure we can help you find your gremlin

well, i'm trying to troubleshoot which part of my engine is fried. ignitor, coilpack, coils etc...so far, i've tried a z32 ignitor, and rewired the plugs so everything is correct, and that didn't solve the problem. i then tested both old and new ignitors and found that the rb20 ignitor had power that ran through the 1-1, 2-2 3-3... but the z32 did not have any power go through it at all. right now i'm thinking its the coilpack, so i'm trying to find a replacement coilpack.all of this because when i pulled the sparkplug from the 1 cylinder and put it upsidedown, when i tried to start the car it did not have spark. so i know that the issue is there somewhere.

OK LETS START FROM THE BASICS!

Ignitor to the coil packs is one single harness which recieves signal pulses from the ecu. Now to easily check if you have spark. Take out the coil pack and spark plug keep them together. Now ground the tip of the sparkplug to the valve cover and have someone crank over the motor. If everything is working correctly you'll see a bolt of lightning from the electrode from the sparkplug. Do that to all 6 and see what you've got.

also, check for fuel. Check the fuel pump priming and also, the injector plugs. one for 12vdc and the other from the ecu.

Need more help call me at 210 837 1670. we can get it running. Just keep us updated. my name is mario.

I already checked some of that. I am getting fuel, but all spark plugs do not fire when i try to crank it over. So my thought is, that its the harness from the ignitor to the coils is bad/cooked/fried because as I said above, I've attempted to test the ignitor and it seemed to be working. Now I'm just looking for the harness. But if you have any other ideas or things that I should check, please let me know.thanks :D

Does the engine just turn over because it is being cranked by the starter or does it actually fire and sputter?

i just had a similar problem, one cylinder wasnt getting spark i tried a new ignitor and 2 coilpacks, i finally got it to fire, the main plug to the ecu i had left hand tight and wasnt making good contact, try that or see if the pins are all the way pushed it, i even pulled apart my coil harness looking for bad wires!!

Simply put, you are not getting fuel and/or spark. Are you positive the injectors are firing? Are your plugs wet with fuel?

Next thing to do is to check continuity in the wires from the ignitor to the ECU. Look in your FSM for the pin numbers and use a multimeter. If you have continuity from the ECU to the ignitor and there is definitely fuel on your plugs, then check your coil packs and spark plugs and gap. If all of that checks out, look at your ECU and IGN relays down near the ECU.
