Which model year they are different? Aux fan comes on when AC comes on unless aux fan motor is bad [very common]..........90 had single speed fan, later units had multi speed..........pretty much automatic and self regulating.

94 is partially ecu controlled as to the coolant temp cycling/speed function but still AC controls and over rides.

The usual problems are an aged condenser with oxidized and bent fins and blockages in fins and between the back and radiator........worn out foam surround letting air flow go around and bypass the as new desired path.

As new AC requires as new parts not worn 6-10 year old parts.

Many AC are reduced by 20-30% in cooling capacity even after a correct fresh recharge!

well then, the vehicle in question is a ''96'' Q. i may have not been clear as i should have been. the fan i'm refering to is the elec fan ahead of rad. ,condenser & trans cooler. i thought it might be appropriate to have a manual switch for hvy. traffic situations. i think i read a post or two that recently suggested such an item. the in cabin fan blows good. i have the recomended taylor probe type thermometer in center vents. with hood up, vehicle in shade, drivers window down, recirc switch on the temp reads 50 deg. with fan speed on high. the amb. temp @ 86/88 deg with the usual soflo humidity hovering around the same.

Search for my posts. It was about a week or so back.

Basically, you will be grounding the relay that activates the Aux. Fan.
