HELP, Stop whining noise!

Power steering fluid was very low, and had a whining noise.

Filled with new fluid and the noise got quieter, but isnow louder than ever.

Still full of fluid, but i am thinking the bearings went in the pump while it was low of fluid.

Are the steering pumps hard to change out on a 97 pathfinder?

Maybe the detergents in the fluid broke more free. I would replace fluid before going that far.
