hi guys, i ran another compression test on my sr

170-180-180-180

when i put the spark plugs back in, cylinder# 1, when i put the coil plug back in, it wouldnt go all the way down. at first i thought i didnt screw it in properly. i tried another spark plus just to see if the original spark plug was threaded, wasnt that either, same thing happened with that plug.

i found out that the thread (that the spark plug screws into) has popped up.

how bad is this?

will i have to take off the valvetrain to get it??

has this effected or have anything to do with the piston/rings/valves/cylinder walls??

thanks, any information would be greatly appreciated.Jd

Well my only question here is, how do you think it popped up? Because if I remember correctly, the thread is one the metal of the block. So I'm not quite sure how a thread could "pop up" Is it possible that some how the lower part of the thread got either cross threaded or somehow got destroyed, that would make it so that the spark plug wouldn't screw in all the way, and if that was the case, you would have to pull your head off, and re-tap the spark plug hole. This shouldn't have affected your pistons/rings/vavles/cylender walls. Chris
