Rebuilt SR with about 500 miles on it already. I have noticed that the car starts running like crap when the fuel gets close to empty. When I start boosting the car will bog and jerk and I will shift and it will kinda bogg and jerk a little then boost intermittently.. when I re-fuel the problem goes away. I have a stock SR with Trust FMIC, GTR Fuel Pump and RS*R 3'' exhaust all the way back, no cat. I also backfire alot.. the last time this motor was in another car it had an SAFC on it, the old one and I got a different ecu that I think was stock but it was labeled "White 180" which leads me to think it might have been tuned... I think i'm running sort of rich, the bigger fuel pump wouldn't be making it backfire and shoot flames, right? It doesn't do it too bad but I just think it shouldn't be doing it at all. Maybe every now and then because of the exhaust .... can anyone give me some advice?

if you have a walbro fuel pump, the fuel pickup/sock on it is much shorter than oem. this will cause fuel starvation when your tank gets close to empty.

just don't let your tank get below 1/4 of a tank.
