Help! When I open and close the rear door/hatch the pistons are squeeking. What's the best way to fix it?

I had the same problem with my old Honda civic hatchback. I simply replaced the pistons. Aftermarket ones are cheap to buy and install. Just makes sure you get pistons that are the proper weight rating for your door.

There's no way to grease them or anything?

If you grease them, eventually the grease will work itself further in the mechanism and the door will stop staying open. Its liable to close on your head on a windy day (unfortunatly it happened to me-that's when I got new pistons!)

Thanks for all the advice. I guess I'll get new pistons.
