I am open to any sugestions on my 1990 240sx hatch onwhy my spedo doesnt work the two wires leadid to the sensor have be resolderd together, but that isnt the problem , i am under the impression that the spedomiter works by using resistance to indicate the speed. the speedo goes to 15 km/h always when i turn the key to the "on" position, when i drive it remains there at the 15 km/h placeI am reasonibly sure that it isnt the sensor on the transmission, becuase i jumped the to wires together, hence this should have maxed out the speedo, but it remained at the 15 km/h point. i am open to any sugestions on why this is doing this any help would be greatly appreciated, i can put plates on the car , untill i get this fixed, so i need to figure this out any sugestions please

i am 99% positive it is the speed sensor, is it not the black cylindrical thin at the absolute back of the transmission to the passengers sideot is much bigger than the gear sensors on the right side of the transmission, but could my problem be a ****ty conection to the spedo in the instrement panel, its i could be how do i aceses where it plugs in, what do i have to take out?thx for any info

If its staying at 15 km then it seems like it must be getting a constant voltage from somewhere (i think, but it might be based on resistance like you said. ) If so, break out the multimeter and start checking things, First check the speed sensor, and the wires goin to it. sorry i couldn't be of much help.
