Help - Spare tire specs for Nissan Rogue SV 2014 with RF Tires

Hi,

I recently purchased a used Nissan Rogue SV 2014 (AWD) with 3rd Row seats and Run Flat Tires. I understand that it doesn't come with a spare tire, however I'd still like to get one for a long road trip because RF tires are not repaired by every tire shop. I'm not sure what should be the specs for the spare tire, my regular tires are: P225/65RF17 100H. The "tire and loading information card" does not give size dimensions for the spare and just mentions "None" on the card. The nissan manual online mentions spare tire size of T145/90D16 and T155/90D17, since my regular tires are 17", I assume I'll need the spare with T155/90D17 or can I also use T145/90D16?

Where would you store the spare tire securely?

If your answer is to simply throw it in the storage area below the rear floor, you are setting yourself and occupants up for serious injury or even DEATH in a roll over or other serious crash. That tire will become a very heavy and loose projectile inside the car can easily come out from the in floor storage area due to its weight.

It needs to be properly secured to the frame of the vehicle, which is not an easy task since your model doesn't have a spare tire mount (I don't believe)

Just realized that we can pull the 3rd raw seat up from the rear side and access the spare tire area. I think we can buy a spare tire and keep it there. Mine is 2014 rogue and was able to pull two latches under the seat in both the side.. and pull the seat up.
