Help! Someone smashed my rear window!!!

Found out last night that my driver side rear window was smashed, the stupid burglar only took the shopping bag with my notepad in it!! Nothing else was stolen from my car, including my iPod which was in the cup holder and the new GPS in the compartment.

He can smash my front window, open the door and take anything he wants, but he broke my rear window and take the stupid shopping bag with nothing in it!!! I guess I should be glad that nothing important or pricey was stolen, but I still can't believe my window was smashed for an useless paper bag!!

Someone told me the rear window is really expensive to fix, does anyone know how much it will cost to replace it? And is it better for me to go back to the dealership or find a local shop to fix it?

Please help since this is my first car and I don't have any experience dealing with this situation. Many thanks!!

that is very unlucky of you, i would have been mad too if someone broke into my car and expected something value is to be stolen but especially in your case nothing was.

damn dude that sucks, you should defenetly go to some shops and get some quotes. also check with your insurance company and see what they cover and how much they will charge you.

dude...do u have full glass coverage i know with allstate its included so that means its a free replacement with no deductible. So chill and get it without any problems.

Dang Man, messed up to hear, i hope no one else has this happen to them. and did u say ipod? them lil buggers arent exactly cheap! lol

I have to pay $1000 deductible before the insurance will cover the rest. I just got back from the Nissan dealership, to replace the rear window ~ $130, labor ~ $100, total $230. Not too bad I guess.

To answer ur question, Kanard, the stupid buglar didn't take my iPod, he took a shopping bag from the back seat!! : I should feel lucky that nothing valuable was stolen I guess...

Hopefully no other Altima Coupe owner will have to experience this.
