The top caliper bolt on the rear pass. side snapped off today when I was replacing my brake pads, Luckily it snapped before I got too far along, so the caliper is still attached and is drivable for now.

How do I get the snapped bolt out? And where is a good place to find new bolts? It's an 89 hatch, non-abs btw.

Thanks,

Koupe.

I believe the caliper slide rebuild kits from autozone come with new bolts, pick one of those up.

As for getting it out, can you grab the end with some pliers? Or did it break off too far down?

Is it called the "Caliper Slide Rebuild Kit"? What else is in that rebulid kit? It snapped off too far in. I heard about this "Easy Out" thing, it looks kinda like a drill bit with reversed coils. You drill a hole in the center bolt stub not all the way through, then you use the easy out with the reverse coils to remove the stub. The problem is, the caliper bolt is facing the other way. Does any one know how to work around this? Thanks,Koupe.

Remove the caliper mounting bracket from the hub and slide it off the rotor. Remove the brake lines and youre set. That way works for the fronts, should do the same for the rears.
