I know this thread is mad old, but i have a question relating to it...
My plans are KA-T... I had planned on using an aftermarket ecu flash (JWT/Enthalpy) with an AFC to fine tune as well... why is this an ineffective form of tuning? I know AFC's suck as a form of tuning by themselves, but when used in conjunction with a JWT ecu, shouldnt you be able to get the a/f's pretty dang close to where you want them? What is the main downfall of the AFC?
The advantage I see to an AFC is that I could bring the car to my tuner and have it tuned on a dyno with it. With the alternative suggestion, I'd have to send my engine specs out, get a chip burnt, and re-dyno. If the tune isnt where I want it... I'd have no way of adjusting, right? I'd have to send the ECU out again and have the tune changed. That seems like a pain in the a** to me. Or am I missing something?
