I am trying to remove the wheelhub and wheel bearing with flange from the rest of the brake spindle or whatever it would be called. According to the FSM the 4 bolts from the back should be undone and the hub and wheel bearing with the flange would come apart as one piece but after removing the bolts it doesn't budge. Any special tools to get this apart, the FSM just says it would all come out as one piece and then you would need a special press to get the hub seperated from the wheel bearing flange

Also on all 4 corners I have removed all the LCA with the entire brake assembly attatched. After removing the cotter pins from the ball joint bolts and taking off the nut, the brake assembly/spindle won't come off from the ball joint bolt (None of the 4 corners will come off the LCA's) is there a special way to remove these from the control arms?

Might I suggest a BMFH. In aviation terms, that stands for a big mother f***ing hammer:D

Try PB blaster, lots of it and let it soak it to loosen up the tough ones. If that doesn't work, let it dry and then try heating the bolt area with a torch. Just make sure it is not soaked with PB blaster when you light it off, unless you don't like your eyebrows.

Good luck.

:doh must remove rust!!-those bearings should just push out-find a punch that is the same size as the inner portion of the bearing and drive it out with a hammer-make sure that it comes out evenly other wise you could crack the knuckle-lots of penetrating oil and patientce-good luck!!

Alright, I was able to get everything off the control arms with a ball joint tool thing (looks like a tuning fork). Unfortunately it tore the ball joint boots. I am hoping these are replaceable (boots). The guy who let me borrow the tool said they would probably tear.

Still having trouble separting hub from the whole spindle/knuckle.
