help screeching sound at 4100 to 4300 rpm

my all stock automatic 98 240 makes a screeching sound when i get to 4100 to 4300 rpmcould it be the timing chain?

I don't think so. Timing chains make rattling noises.

Does it screech when the engine is cold, or warm?

it schreeches no matter the temp and only at those rpms' if i pass those rpms it stops hmm

check to see if all your belt's are in good shape. your PS belt, Alt. belt so on and so forth

does it make a howling noise? i just had that problem, and it was a fan clutch. the fan should freespin a little when the engine is off... the engine it trying to spin the fan at too high a speed and it makes the belt sip and screech...

mine does that too.the problem with mine is the AC belt check if it only does that when the ACs on?

At what rpms does your fan clutch problem make noises?

And how much money would it cost to replace the fan clutch?how about all the belts?

I get a screeching in all gears and neutral when the rpms gets over 3k. the sound is present with the ac off, not sure if its there when the AC is on...but I assume it should be also.
