Long time reader, first time writer!

I've lived w/ this annoying problem for almost three years now, and I'm hoping someone has experienced it and can give me some advice. The symptoms are as follows:

Every morning I start the car('93 J30) to head for work-everything is normal. I usually don't wait for longer then 30 sec. to 1 min.

-about 2-5 minutes later I gradually accelerate from a stop or light, the car hesitates, like a loss of power.

-if I don't give it more gas, the car eventually accelerates but only after what seems like 5-10 sec. and not very smoothly.

-if I boot it, out of frustration, it will accelerate, w/ abrupt upshifts and jerky acceleration.

-all of these symptoms though, disappear about 5-10 minutes later, regardless of cruising speed or weather(sometimes extreme)

Spark plugs have been changed as well as all liquids except coolant at specified intervals. No sensors have ever been changed. Timing belt and coolant was changed at specified mileage......car now has 175k kms.

Please help!

on that particular car i would bet you are getting a rich stumble under load during warmup. i have noticed more than a few vg30de's doing that. the things i would check would be coolant temp sensor and harness, plugs(i know, you changed them), and base idle.

Thanks very much. It seems the consensus is coolant temp sensor.I'll let you know after the swap, if it solves my problem.

i would buy the little pigtail harness from a z31 coolant temp sensor too. it will fit the sensor on your car and you can splice it in to your harness.
