Hey y'all. I'm completely new at this so any help would be appreciated!

I have an Infiniti g35 last week the ac compressor clutch went out. It's not moving at all. In the morning I'm going to replace it but haven't had much luck on tutorials or any forums so at least I have an idea what to expect. I'd like to flush out the system if necessary just don't wanna f*** anything else up.

Please any help would be so appreciated. Thanks!

From what I've read, if the clutch goes, the compressor isn't far behind it. So I've always changed out the whole unit. This requires the freon to be purged and then recharged upon completion. You can get a brand new compressor/clutch combo for $490 or a Reman combo for $360 at Buyautoparts.

Either way you'll need to take it someplace to have the system purged. It's illegal to open the lines yourself.

Hopefully somebody else will chime in.

If the clutch just doesn't engage (electrical failure)then you won't need to flush the system. However if the compressor itself is locked up you will need to flush the entire system and you will have to replace the receiver-dryer and you may also have to replace the expansion valve. My shop always replaces the entire compressor either way, it's a lot more cost effective.

You might take it to the dealer and pay for a diagnostic so you know whats going on, could be as simple as a fuse.

I dealt with Juan (480) 240-3527. Tell him your from NICO and Jeff Woods sent you.
If Infiniti of Scottsdale looks at your car they are required to give you a list of things to repair you are not obligated to replace anything. My last repair on my G35 sedan was a rack & pinion, Juan even sourced a junkyard used power steering pump for me to save me $200 over the new one.
