Hey,

I have a 94 Infiniti Q45 with a Bose sound system. The car came with a OEM Sony 10 Disc CD changer. I don't know the model number, but on the cover it says "1 Bit D/A Converter" if this helps with the model number. My problem is that the original one has not worked since I bought the car and the cheapest I can find a replacement is $380 plus shipping. I would like to install a aftermarket changer if possible. I have a image with the pinout from the head unit that I will attach if it helps. I would have no problem taking the wiring harness from the old changer and splicing it into the new changer if it would work.

Thanks for your help.

[QUOTE]Originally posted by My_Q45 "]Hey,

I just sold a changer on E-bay the other that would fit your car. In fact, I have an auction going right now for one that is compatible.

Basically, any changer advertised for a Bose equipped 94-01 Q45, 95-01 Maxima/I30, 95-01 Pathfinder, 97-01 QX4, 95-97 J30, 99-02 G20 and 95-01 Altima will work with your car. The connector is in the trunk and you would just need to hook it up with the changer. The Alpine LE716, LE709, Clarion CV737 and original Sony OEM changer models will work in your vehicle. You can get one on E-bay for around $150, but you have to be patient as they don't come up too often.

Thanks for the info,

My OEM changer was a 10 Disc & unsure if a 6 disc would work. Do you happen to know? Are the pinouts the same?

Thanks.

The OEM was a Sony 10 disc. Alpine and Clarion have since become the OEMs and they make 6 disc changers. The original plug was located in a box on the top of the changer, but it is now a more conventional cord that comes out of the back of the unit. The 6 disc Alpines and Clarions will work with your Bose headunit just the same as the original 10 disc. I have sold a couple of the Clarions to Q45 owners on E-bay who had the same question. The 10 disc changers can be found, but, due to age, it is best to pick up a newer 6 disc changer that can be more easily serviced or replaced.

I recently purchased a 94Q, it has a 10 disc, Sony changer to. It also didn.t work. I sent it in to Sony, they rebuit it for $156. Works like a charm now. I am very happy with the way everything worked out. I almost spent #300 + for a new one. Wayne

I have a 1995 Q45 with the original 10-disk Sony changer. Some 8 months back, it stopped working. The local Infiniti dealer sent it "out to be repaired" and it is doing fine now. Total cost was about $179, including taking it out and re-installing, as I recall.

FWIW, I bought multiple disk carriers (the Sony 10 disk thing) when I first bought my 1991 Q. This has saved me a lot ... the 1995 (which I bought in 1998) did not have a carrier. So, I told the Infiniti dealer that I would not give him one on the 1991 that I traded in!

I have the Clarion 6 disc changer for the Q brand new, for $150.00!!!! The factory is blowing these things out right now. Feel free to give me a call, 1.888.216.5328. I have no idea when the're going to raise the price again. The install kit is an additional $37.50, you will probably need the brackets that come with the kit because the 6 disc is a lot thinner then the 10 disc.
