okay so long story short, i used to have a z32, and now i have a gixxer 750 and an s13.

i just bought some 15" kosei wheels so i popped the 4 lug nuts off to change the wheels only to find that theres a huge one hidden between those 4! now i dont really have experience with these types of wheels so please be nice and i did try searching! is there a tool somewhere in the car that i cant find to take the huge lug nut off?

If your talking about the really big nut in the center of the wheel, that holds the axle into the wheel hub, you don't have to remove it. Just take off the 4 lugs and you're good to go. if the wheel is stuck on, just hit the TIRE(not the rim) with a hammer.

Yeah, not a problem. Don't worry about feeling stupid. We all have our moments

It sounds to me like the wheel was just stuck on there pretty good. Rubber mallets are your friends

lucky for me my dumb moment was my first post, so i got it over with hah. but now theres another problem! the wheels i got wont fit because the holes in the wheels are about just a little too small for the lugs on the car. i noticed that the lugs on the back left are fairly new as opposed to the lugs on the other 3. could this be the problem or do i need to take the wheels somewhere to get them bored out?

and ill be sure to dig the rubber mallet out of the garage

I don't think modifying a wheel would be safe.

Got any pictures?

pictures would help alot. do the studs not line up with the wholes? or are the lug nuts too big to fit in the wheel?

if the lugs are too big you need tuner style lug nuts. you can pick some up at auto zone for around $30

you can kinda see the lugs on my wheels in this picture

they are much thinner and will fit the smaller holes

if the wheel doesn't fit on the studs then the wheel its a different bolt pattern, probably 4X100, you need 4x114.3 for a 240SX

the stud diameter for your wheels is 4 x 114.3... if they dont fit you have the wrong stud diam on the new wheels. maybe 4 x 120

in fact... f*ck those, and spend a few hours drooling over thishttp://zilvia.net/f/chat/12986....html

If your not doing it this way

your wasting your time.

well i bought them from this guy who said they were 4x114.3. now im looking at the back and this is what is says "VIASH-114.3 OFF17" but then on the other side of that is says "VIA 4H-100." i could swear if the holes in the wheels were 1-2mm bigger in diameter they would clear the lugs.

it's not the lug nuts. the wheels won't fit on the car because the holes in the wheels are too small by about 2mm. i think if i got just one of the holes bored out on each wheel, the other 3 holes on each wheel would fit easily. know what im sayin? the stock teardrop wheels i have on have huge holes and thats how they're fitting on. imagine those pencil sharpeners back in grade school. if youre pencil was bigger than the hole, then how would you get your pencil sharpened? lol

well if you were to enlarge 1 hole, that would probably mess up the concentricity of the wheel. so to clairify, the stud is too large a diameter?

that's what I was thinking. kinda throws off the point of balancing. yea the studs are too thick. I think it's bc they are aftermarket studs on the rear left (which is where I tried replacing the wheel). I'll try another wheel tomorrow, but if that is the problem I'm going be very irritated that I have to replace the studs on the rear left. btw I just measured the bolt pattern by hand and I measures 113 but of course hand rulers and my eyes aren't pefect.

thats really weird, so its only the studs on the rear left? if so, you could just get the proper studs.

Not everyone likes that "style" I bought a set of rims that had tires like that on them all stretched and whatnot and i took them off before even mounting the wheels... not saying anything is wrong with that but not everyone thinks the same.

better make sure you get a 3lb hammer to compliment your rubber mallet you know.. if you gotta replace the studs. i didn't enjoy doing that one bit. but if it turns out the stud diameter on that one side isn't the problem, are you going to drill out the rims? i'd probably take mine to a shop since i've had bad experiences with wheels falling off.. lol

I never understood why sticking out two inches was considered "flush" to some.

Those wheels are 4x100 lug pattern ie honda... 240s are 4x114.3 just barely different thats why you say only a couple milimeters off im sorry to break it to you but those wheels will not fit and i would NOT modify them to fit in any way!

Looking at that pic of the tag on the wheel it appears that the PCD is wrong. Shouldn't it say 114.3?
