I feel stupid asking this but I am trying to take just the upper part of the intake manifold off (the 4 runners?)I undid all the bolts from the head and the same from the lower part of the intake, it is loose but won't come up because of the way the 4 bolts it lines up on are placed. I tried unbolting the lower part of the intake off the bracket it is hanging on in hopes that it would drop abit. Sorry this sounds confusing, i'll try and get a picture of what I want to remove.

Alright, got a picture, hopefully it helps explain better.

I had to remove mine as one peice, then take it apart. You might be able to just loosen the plenum off the bracket, but it's alot easier to just yank the whole thing.

out of curiosity, is there any particular reason you don't want to remove the plenum?

After I posted this I went outside and just ended up taking it all off, you're right, it is much easier.

Is this easily done with the engine still in the car? I might need to do this process this winter...

I took it off with the motor out. I don't think it would be to hard with the motor in the car, everything seems as if it would be easily accessible.

its always easier with the motor out of the car, i was able to take apart my motor with ease only because i had it on a engine stand.
