Hi. I am looking for guidance on my 60,000 servicing of my 1998 Infiniti I30. I love my car, which I purchased used from an Infiniti dealer in Louisiana. I am now in New Jersey and am looking for a place to have my car get its 60k servicing. One dealer quoted me $1200, and another said $850. I've called a couple of mechanics in the area, and they have said around $500. My questions for you, experts with this car, is
1) what are the most important things to happen at 60,000 miles? I know flushing fluids is one of them, and I assume changing spark plug is the other, but what else could account for so much money?2) can a mechanic at a general garage (AAA approved) do this maintenance, or does it require more specialized skill?
Thanks.3) are any of you in the NJ/PA/NYC area and do you know any non-dealership mechanics that are knowledgeable about Infinitis that can provide this service?
