I recently bought a rebuilt turbo from a board member here, and the center cartridge on the new turbo is turned 1/4 of a turn clockwise from my current turbo. What should i do?Turbo off the car is on the left, new turbo on the right.

Just losen the bolts on both sides of the turbo so the center secton is free to spin. It easy as 1 2 3 (had to say it)

I also agree. You ought to be able to loosen the bolts on the inside of both the compressor and turbine housings. When you loosen these bolts, you should be able to spin/clock the center section independently from the two housings.

yup loosen the bolts that are holding the housings to the center section and clock away.

just make sure you wastegate actuator doesn't get crooked. You can test it by hooking an air hose to it

another thing to remember is that sometimes even thought the turbine housing has the bolts loosend up to the point where the housing should spin but doesnt usually means the housing could be stuck..not to worry though. if you can spring for some good penetrating oil and let it sit overnight and genty tap it with a hammer on the housing you can knock it loose..(BE CAREFUL NOT TO HIT IT TOO HARD AS TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE TURBINE HOUSING AND TURBINE WHEEL).. the wheel is not designed to take any type of impact.
