Well as you all my know i am about to purchase a 95 240sx next week for $900 yes becuase my uncle gave me the hook up but the car has 130K on it but still strong running and the engine is clean. But i want to rebuild the engine though becuase it could be a little weak after 130K miles on it but i dont know **** about what parts to get or whatever to rebuild it. So can you people give me the info on what to to get to rebuild the engine and like how much it would cost. Im planning on turboing the Ka thats already in it after i rebuild the engine so please give me some tips and o yeah if you want to see the pics of my car just email me at [email protected]

My KA has 130,000 miles on with a solid 195psi compression in each cylinder. Which is well above the standard 179.

Run a compression test first, then decide what to do from there.

If you're rebuilding it to make it internally stronger, i.e. for a turbo kit, then that's one thing, more power to you.

If you're rebuilding it solely because it has 130k on the clock, then that doesn't make a whole of sense. Unless it has a major problem with rings/valves/pistons etc. leave it be and keep driving it. The KA will last a long, long time. A full stock rebuild is a lot of $ and work, and not always necessary.

Just my two drachmas...

don't rebuild it, because it sounds like you have no clue what you're doing and you will do something totally wrong. just pull the engine and drop in a fresh(well not fresh, maybe one with under 60k) KA24DE.

If you dont know what you are doing, don't try it unless you have an experienced friend to help. There are all sorts of tolerances and clearances that need to be met and stayed within when rebuilding an engine. without the proper tools, it is not an easy task.
