I am wanting to bypass the rear heater core altogether. I have a new heater hose assembly (the one that traverses the firewall from passenger side to driver side and plugs into the auxiliary coolant pump). The catch is (by design) this new heater hose assembly lacks the downpipe connection that travels to the rear heater core hose. So the question is -- is there going to be an issue (throwing codes for example) removing that auxiliary pump from the circuit? In reading up on it -- it's sole function is to circulate coolant back to the rear heater core. Is this correct? Has anyone else done this on here and detailed their account? Thank you. The part I used is below:

The systems without rear HVAC don't have a pump and it won't throw codes, but I've actually added pumps to a good number of R51 Pathys and N50 Xterras over the years, along with a relay so they only come on with the blower on high like the OEM setup. The VQ water pumps don't generate a lot of head, and with the tall firewall, the aux pumps actually help a lot with getting good heat at idle in very cold conditions. So you can remove it, but if you live anyplace chilly then you're probably better off leaving it in.
