My right QX4 headlight is full of condensation. Since it is really hard to take out the HID bulb I drilled some small holes in the housing and parked the car in the sun. Still the headlight is fogged up. How do you remove the headlight? I found out that you can put silica sealent bags in the headlight housing and that will remove the water. I found the top two headlight bolts but the housing is connected to the grill. How do I remove the grill?

Soooo, the headlights are probably not sealed from the factory, so drilling the holes to get rid of the condensation probably wont help. Well, I know the Pathfinder headlights aren't sealed.

The silica bags are only a temporary fix, until the beads absorb the maximum amount of moisture and then you will keep getting condensation.

Your best bet would be to re-seal the lens. I can't really help with taking the headlights off the car because I don't think it's the same process as the pathfinder.

Yeah, there are four black plastic clips in each corner of the grille. The clips are deep in the grille (and attach the grille to the radiator support) so you may have to look in there a bit. You take a flat head screwdriver and turn the clips (1/4 turn) until the grille pulls off.

So thats how you get the clips off. I tried squeezing them. Now you know that little body colored piece under the headlight, if you were looking from the outside, is that attached to the headlight?

This is where the QX4 and Pathfinder differ. For the Pathfinder you would have to remove the corner blinker and then you have access to a bolt which holds that little trim under the headlight on. Then once you remove that bolt, you could just slide the trim off of a couple of clips which hold it to the headlight housing.

Maybe someone on the forum has experience with removing the QX4 headlights and can pick up from here.

Yeah, until it rains. Once the humidity increases they'll most likely fog up again. I'm guessing that drilling the hole just gave way for a wider passage for moisture to enter the housing. I would remove the housing, dry it out, seal it back up and plug the holes you drilled with silicone. Best of luck dude.

yeah the reason i chose the pathy over the qx4 is because, a body shop manager told me the qx4 headlight was $1500 each and only available at the dealer

nala did what? you should of left it, it would of dried on its own then all you would of have to do is heat it up or apply sealant to it

as for taking out headlight in pathy, i think there are two bolts on the side behind the grill, one bolt behind the filler piece under the headlight, then i think you firmly pull forward, but some else should conform this as this was two years ago

take out the corner light if easy enough and check to see ...
