I got out and walked around back to get my laptop out of the trunk and the brake lights WERE NOT ON. then i go out to my car to get some dinner and i notice the lights are on, i have tried everything behind the brake pedal, by the master cylinder, everything....im at a total loss, i need to figure this out quick, please help.

When you said everything behind the brake pedal, did you check the rubber stoppers on the brake pedal arm to make sure there was not a hole there. It won't close the switch if the rubber piece is missing.

the rubber piece is gone and there is a hole in the arm, im assuming that this is where the stopper goes. I pressed the button while the pedal wasnt depressed and the lights still didnt shut off. This is really getting to be a pain in the a$$. also, does anyone know the part number, if there is one, for the stopper piece. also any suggestions on how to install it. space is pretty tight in that area.

Yeah, a nut and bolt. Been working fine for me for a while now.

I paid like $3 for that small *** OEM plastic piece, and its IMPOSSIBLE to put it back in place. Its very frustrating...

NUT & BOLT!
