my stock turbo went out on my 240. It was a garrett t25 and i am now looking at getting a upgrade. Was thinking about getting a garrett t28 but how much does one usually run? How are the ebay ones? Also was looking at some t25/t28 hybrids. They are not ballbearing but are THRUST JOURNAL BEARING - 360 DEGREE. I am looking at spending anywhere from 250-500$ max. If you look on ebay you will see what im looking at . There are so many that are the same but different prices i dont know how to choose they all say the same thing. Any info would be greatly appreciated .

Do not, i repeat DO NOTTTTT get an ebay turbo, you will pay for it later as its cheap quality will haunt you. As for getting a t28, you're not really going to be able to find one in the price range you mentioned, as OEM S15 t28s run about 800-900 dollars and you have to get S15 turbo inlets and outlets for it also. I would suggest, if you're not willing to spend the money, to try and find a replacement t25

if you go to websites like phase2motorsports.com optionimports.com heavythrottle.com frsport.com enjukuracing.com and look under oem sr parts you should be able to find the compressor outlet..if not post on nissan parts classified section here on nico..for the turbine outlet where the o2 sensor plugs into get an aftermarket one they make the turbo spool quicker now nomore thread jacking its not nice

You can cut, rotate, and weld the inlet. For the outlet, the ebay hot pipe + 90 degree rubber elbow that you should already have works great. Waaay less than those adapter plates.

no you need the acuall compressor elbow that the intake pipe adapts to and i thought he meant the o2 dump but i guess he meant the adaptor pipe for the hotpipe..after reading that description on phase2 though i think those would work..they better since they say they do...another thing you could do is contact all of those websites i listed and ask them if they have those outlet pipes laying around that they can sell..sometimes they have these extra parts that they picked up from somewhere not listed on the site

i took a metal saw to my inlet pipe and cut off the end of it so it didnt point down as much. if you still have the stock rubber intake pipe it shouldnt be hard to get it to line up. as for the outlet i did the same with the hotpipe. i cut off the end so the angle matched up with the turbo. if you do this just make sure to roll the edges of the pipe so it doesnt blow off the couple under boost. it costed $0 and allowed me to drive my car w/o waiting for parts.

oh yeah, for the other question about the t28's, you can buy a s14 t28 for about 300 bucks used. the only difference in the s15 turbo is that is has the inconel wheel. other than that they are exactly the same. you should check under parts for sale in the forums. i thought i saw someone selling t28's for around 300.

Someone should do a write up on this install. People always ask about this. I guess I'll do it.
