!!HELP!! q45 lsd swap problems

im in the middle of swapping the output shafts form my stock open diff to a 90 q45 vlsd to get the right bolt pattern, only problem is the shafts are a totally different length, not only that i tried to put them in and the teeth dont even mesh. help!! maybe i should just weld the open

the outputs are completely different from an open diff to a vlsd. you need to find proper vlsd shafts. some us stock vlsds came with the 6 bolt pattern if you could find the output shafts you can use them or you could get jdm axles and swap them instead. either way you cant swap the outputs from your stock diff as you have found out. if you weld the open diff you lose most of your driveability. you can basically forget driving it in the rain or snow and parking lot turns would be nasty.
