hey everyone! im a noob to this site! i need help. ive got about 6k miles on my 08 altima coupe 2.5s. For some reason the tiptronic just stopped working. whenever i shift into tip mode the display doesnt show the gears anymore, it just shows (D) for drive. if i shift to drive it still stays on drive. The RPM also seems to drop rapidly when i drive, it jumps from say 3000 rpm to 1500 rpm but it still seems to drive ok. Does anyone know what is going on with my car? its starting to piss me off! i noticed the problem a few days ago when it wouldnt shift from first to second. It would really help if anyone could tell me what i could do to get it tested? do i go to autozone or something?

take it back to the dealer and have them run the tests. Your car is still under warrantee so it will be free. If you take it some place else they will charge you.

speeking of dealership, not trying go off topic but

i regret purchasing the 1 year service package at the dealership.

i took my car in for a a oil change and a recall (i believe it was the reporgraming ) the car was in for over 3 hrs and i didn't like the overall service

so the next oil change i went to another dealer close to my home. they ask me would u like to do the same recall. i told them they did over at the original dealer i was with the answer i got was no such record in the system.

i have the dealer call them up to double check funny thing is that the original dealer said they never did any recall on my car.

then wtf was my car in for 3 hrs and they told me that the recall was preformed

i know its off topic but my point is

DONT TRUST DEALERS!!

it will only cancel your warrante if the intake is the direct cause of the problem. But I doubt the intake caused this problem. Its sounds like more of a problem with the programing. But if you are that worried, just swap out the intake with the stock one and they will never know.

The only diagnostic tests that you can run are if you "Service engine light" is on - otherwise, the normal person doesn't have access to the tools to diagnose what problems there are with your car. If you don't have a SEL light on, then you best take it to your dealer to look at.
