Hello everyone!

I just bought a 98 QX4 with 150k miles and had Check Engine Light(P0100 and P0325) on when i bought it.
I relocated a knock sensor and the code didn't come back for week.
Right after my mechanic replace timing belt, water pump, seals, thermostat and etc, CEL came on for P0300. Q kept stalling on every stop light so replaced MAF fixed stalling issue. Still had Check engine light for P0300.
Next day, i started up no engine check light but noticeable loss of power.

Any advice what i should look for please?

You may be in limp home mode also because of timing belt change do a static timing check and dynamic verification and see if advance is working.

Verify your distributor with P0300 miss fires, check HT cables, connections, plugs

How would i verify advance is working?

CEL should pop up if timing is messed up right?

The timing belt may be a tooth off on one or both cams.

P0300 is random cylinder misfire. I would start with plugs and wires.

I had P0300 and replaced coils/plugs and been running strong since.

Have you cleared the P0300 code? If IIRC, it take five clean drive cycles before it will clear itself.

I THINK "drive cycle" start out cold, drive it till warm (there may be minimum time or distance), stop and let cool. Most of us get two drive cycles in a day, IF the weather isn't real hot (on hot day, I'll still show just a touch of temperature on the gauge when I come out of work.

a jumped tooth could possibly throw a misfire code since the camshaft position sensor is in the distributor

Im re bumping this thread, because i am having the EXACT same issue, but i know timing is not an issue.

Im having new plug sent, hopefully that fixes the problem.
