My beast developed a fuel leak and it used to stall on idle frequently. Only when I suspected a fuel vapour smell I got to the bottom of it and replaced the pipe rectifying that part, but after being parked up for few months it refused to start with backfiring and black smoke simultaneously it would star for few seconds to just cut out. I replaced the coils checked injectors, fuel pressure checked and Maf replaced. Driven fir about 20mins and I hear top end Knock
I parked it up and found by scoping a cylinder it may have burned/cracked a piston.
So now whenever I start it throws white smoke and misfires consistent to a missing cylinder.
I cant te if this picture I'm posting is a melted piston or cracked.
All cylinders read good strong PSI except the culprit which made roughly around 45PSI
What can the more experienced guys in this field suggest would be ok to just replace the piston or should it just be a engine swap.
If only the one piston is changed would it cause any negative effects on the engine
