help pleaz.....my transmission going out
i got 89 240sx with sr20det..but do i have to put sr transmission or ka????if ka fits then what will be different from sr transmission????and what year ka transmission will go on my 240???pleaz help me out....thanks...

Use the sr20det transmission,I think the ka transmission fits but 5th gear is a little taller.If you have the sr20det transmission use that one.

I really dont know for sure,I thought i read of some people with ka transmission on there sr.I just said i know it fit.I dont know if the stater will bolt on?

KA transmission is no taller or shorter from a turbo SR20 transmission. All gears will be the same ratio. As for mounting the transmission itself, you will have to remove the KA transmission bellhousing and replace it with the SR bell housing (front half of transmission). The rear half is just about identical to the SR transmission.

I have a 89' 240sx and i have an SR20DET redtop and the gears seem to be the same as my ka just hella wide.....boggs in 5th gear @ 35mph....
