I'm looking for any 2011+ M37 owner who's done Uprev and can share the ECU part number. Should be something like 23710-....... Thanks in advance.

IIRC, the part number also depends on what 'firmware' the dealer has flashed to your ECU. For example, your ECU from the factory might be 23710-0001 and after 2 years Infiniti released an updated software and yours was flashed so now it's 23710-00002. That's why, when I flash UpRev to my car my part number is 23710-#####-UpRev or something like that.

What I'm trying to say is, not all 2011 M37's have the same ECU part number. At least that's how I understood a post a month or two ago on one of my threads...I'll see if I can find it.

EDIT: Here's the post by an Infiniti tech:

post6715682.html?hilit=23710#p6715682 and the post right after it

There are many different M ECU part #'s. Your best bet is to go to an Uprev tuner in ur area n just have them plug in n tell u what the part # is. Even if ur gonna do it remotely with Seymore, that way u know if you'll have to pay the extra $200 because the M's are not recognized by Uprev as being core vehicles. If I remember correctly, I think u just added the Takeda intakes n Stillen exhaust. Either way, get the tune even if you have to pay the extra $200, it's well worth it!!!

Thanks guys. The extra $200 sucks. I would think that the ECU would be the same across the board. Kinda like having Android 7.1.1 and being able to universally build a ROM that would work on any Nexus 5X. Once the core code is there anyone can use it. Oh well.

Just about a year ago, I was communicating with Joe Waldal (seymore4) and I found the ECU part number off the UpRev website database spreadsheet (btw $350 ain't too bad to get your car dialed in right, lots of guys have used Joe and are completely satisfied):

here's my email thread with him regarding e-tuning my 2013 M37 Sport:

There are many different ECU part #'s, even for the same exact year/make/model. If you have a different ECU part # then your car is running on different software, and even if a similar car with similar stuff has a different ECU part #, you can't share. That's just how it is.

The rom support matrix is not updated regularly, use the link I sent you.

If you never reflashed the M45 then you don't need to reflash it back to stock. The license is still on the cable.

I can definitely hook you up with tuning, but its going to cost you $350. $150 etuning fee plus $200 custom rom patch fee.

Joe,

could you send me the ROM file? the ECU part # is 23710-EH010

I never flashed my car's ECU with any tune, I just hooked up the cipher to look at some data. ECU Do I still need to flash my old car back to stock with the ROM file to get the license loaded back onto the cable?

It doesn't look like the 2013 M37 Sport non-AWD, with Tech/Journey package is supported, ECU 23710-1PR3A. Its funny, when I went to UpRev's website you can download the ROM support matrix,: the 2012 M37 Sport is supported: 1MV1D, 1MV1C and the 2013 M37 non sport is supported 1PR2B, 1PR2A.

Does this basically mean that not enough folks with a 2013 M37 Sport non-AWD, with Tech/Journey have UpRev'd for them to have developed tunes for this particular model?

Can you hook me up with tuning my new car?

sorry for so many questions - I am trying to educate myself, just have to do more reading

Craig

Good to hear from you. I would absolutely recommend reflashing the M45 back to stock, if you don't you will lose the tune license, and that alone is worth $300. All you need is the corresponding "back to stock" rom file to reflash and the license will be loaded back onto the cable. You can download that directly through the rom editor, or just email me the ECU part # and I will send it to you.

You can use it on the M37, cipher should work just fine for diagnostics but you will need to check if the ECU part # is supported or not with Uprev before you can reflash it:
https://uprev.com/ROMSearch.php

The M's are considered "non core vehicles" so if its not supported there is a $200 fee to add support.

Hey Joe,

I am emailing you because I know you aren't regularly on the forums.
I emailed you a while back about buying a tuner version of the UpRev cable for my 2006 M45 - which I ended up getting.

Well, I was rear ended and the M45 is toast - bad news.

Good news is I bought a 2013 M37.
Can I use the cable for the M45 for the M37?

I only used the cable to try some data logging.

Do I need to unmarry the license for my old car (the M45) before I can use it on the M37?

And if so, is there an easy way to unmarry it?
I read the Osiris and Cipher manual and I don't remember seeing how to put the license back on the cable.

If there is an easy DIY guide, I sure would appreciate it.

thanks,

Craig

Just an FYI, the unmarrying/marrying of the license happens automatically depending on which tune you flash. There are no manual steps. UpRev is designed to know (must be a value somewhere in the .OsirisROM file extension that tells it whether it's stock or UpRev tuned - my guess is the field/value where it they changed the ECU part number from 23710-xxxx to 23710-xxxx-UpRev or whatever) which is which and will move the license accordingly.

My dumbass forgot to remove the license from my M35x when I traded it in so I had to spend the money and buy UpRev all over again for my M56x. I also left my exhaust on it and a few other bits and pieces because I didn't have the time to buy a stock one...man someone at the auction got lucky with that car.

I emailed my service advisor the VIN number. She was able to give me the ECU part number, which I emailed to Joe. Turns out mine isn't supported.

Getting ready to pull the trigger myself.
