I am new to the 200sx SER and the swaps that can be done. i had a 240 before and wanted an sr but ended up selling it. i want a 95 200sx ser. I am so confused at what swap to do. I want either a bluebird or GTI-R but what is the difference. How much will it cost total. Where do i order it from? and what can be done to it aftermarket wise compared to a longitudinally mounted sr20det? Thanks for yur help? oh and what times can i expect ?

Both motors are good upgrades. I have owned both.

The bluebird motor is pretty much just a turbocharged sr20. It has oil squirters for the pistons, lower compression ratio (8.5:1) and a few small differences.

as for the GTiR that is a totally different motor.

The gtir shares almost no parts with the standard sr20. The crank is different (uses different size bolts for the flywheel, and different crank bearings). The rods are stronger, the pistons are (8.3:1 compression) The head is completely different (it uses hydrogen Filled valves), different cams..... the GTir uses an oil cooler which will only work on the gtir block. The block is different as well. The gtir also uses individual throttle bodies.

As for wiring Differences, The TPS is reverse of that on all other sr20's

There are alot more things different, but i cant remember them all right now.

As for performance, The GTiR is superior stock with 225hp compared to that of the Bluebird (195hp)

When Modified They both react pretty wellto mods. The GTiR will hold a little more boost.

Both Motors will be able to hold a ton of HP.
