so i ordered some ddm HIDs and read two different DIYs on how to install them through the wheel well. i'm almost 100% positive i did everything correctly, but when i turn my lights on it won't go on. here are 2 pictures of how i connected it [camera pics sorry]

i plugged the new bulb to the factory harness, and then hooked up the ballast to the bulb. i'm not too sure if i did it right or now. if anyone knows what i did wrong pleeease help. thank you in advance.

HID kits are polarized and some kits come backwards for some reason. Try plugging the car harness plug into the ballast harness upside down (you might have to trim the peg on the socket for it to fit or just pull the wires out of the ballast plug and reinsert them the opposite way). More than likely by flipping the wires you will solve your problem.

The polarity on these kits is sometimes backwards for some reason, apparently with the DDM kit its not uncommon. He is saying that the positive from one harness is actually connecting to the negative of the other. You simply need to reverse the wires in the harness so that positive is connecting to positive and negative to negative. Dig?

Have you ever tried to plug something into the wall that had a wider blade on 1 side than the other? You have to flip it so it fits the wide opening? That is done so that polarity is not reversed.

Exactly. Take the original plug that use to connect to your holgen light bulb and unplug it from the new hid kit that you installed. Turn it over and plug it back in.

You might want to try and bend the pins out for a better connection. Thats what i had to do with mine cause they didn't line up right.

lol, yeah i got the right bulb.

idk why but for some reason, after i tried to install them and gave up, i turned my car on and the "service engine soon" light came on, and my driver window won't go up automatically anymore, but it goes down automatically. all i did was disconnect the battery, and unplug the bulb, and plug in the new one. anyone know why that happened?

you've got the same issue as everyone who has an issue with ddm kits, they reversed the wires. you can see it in your 2nd pic, the black wires should line up, but it shows that your red goes to black and your blue goes to black so they reversed the wiring. like people said, try to flip the plug over and jam it in, if it doesn't go in then trim off the little nub that blocks the plug from going in the wrong way.

your windows won't go up cause it's a function that is disabled when you unhook your battery, just do the auto window roll up procedure. roll the window down, then roll it up and hold the button for another 5 seconds after it's rolled up, it should reactivate. and to get rid of the check engine light, just disconnect your battery again for a minute and it'll go awyay.
