I have a 1990 240sx hatch with a ka-e, and i was putting neon under the dash when i noticed my clock went out. I turned the car on, and none of the gauges worked. My radio, and dome light don't come on either. I don't know where to look anymore. I have checked every fuse twice. Please someone help. I have been searching for the last two days.

I would trace the problem with the wirring diagram found in the service manual: http://Nicoclub.com/FSM

first thing ya did wrong bro...is the neon under the dash..thats a honda thing..so lets fix that...

back trace any and all connections you made with splices to power said ricer excessory...re move any splice and reconnect by way of soldering gun and shrink tubing..then check your fuse...turn the key and drive to nissan happyness.....last but not least..sell said neo on ebay for a profit..list it under the honda fast and the furious section...take said money and put it twards coilovers

good luck

Ok so I still have no power to the cabin. I have checked everything i can think of. Could it possibly be something in the dash, or steering column?

Check your battery cables for corrosion. the 75a alt. fuseable link should control what goes inside the car tho.

Listen to paul wall, hes had the best advice so far. Use your online Factory service manual and use the wiring diagrams for your gauges. Trace the wires and see if a connection is unplugged or a ground came loose or a wire got pulled. There is one power wire and one ground that runs all that stuff (at least this is the case in the S14). Your wiring diagram will clearly point this stuff out once you learn how to read them. It even has a troubleshooting section that deals with your exact problem and how to diagnose and fix it. If you just listened to every random person on NICO telling you what it could be then you would be there all year. Do the work your self and learn a little bit about your car at the same time.

Ok so thank you all for the help. I pulled the cluster out and found that 2 wires had burnt. I fixed those then i traced them back and it was cause by a bad ground that had corroded and came loose. So far everything is working. Again thank you all.
