ok i am new here i have looked for my answer but no luck i have a 89 240sx i have replaced the fuel pump regulator and all the tune up stuff and the o2 sensor and the car still acts the same way and now it will miss or act like it is not getting any gas while driving it at any speed however it is using more gas than ever like very crazy mpg i can pull the fuse to the fuel pump and it will start fine put the fuse back in and runs rich so if anyone can help me out here i would love thanksoh yeah if i get on it hard it does fine runs great go back to normal driving and it acts up again

it sounds like your getting too much fuel. it could be a stuck open injector or injector o-rings. start by checking your injector impedance. i believe thay should be high impedance 14 ohms but dont quote me.

Wait you can pull the fuel pump fuse and you car will run?

yeah it will start but i have to put the fuse back in to keep it runnung

thats either from residual line pressure or from fuel pooling on top of the pistons.

Yea you might want to leak test your injectors. They could be leaking down. Idk if you have access to a pressure tester though.

ok i fixxed the starting problem it runs great in the this morning but on the way home this afternoon it did the same thing like it is not getting any fuel but if i wide open throddle it it will run great or around 65 mph and up great anything under 65 it does the on and off thingcould this be the relay for the pump?

Honestly I dont really think its a fuel pump problem. When is the last time your fuel filter replaced?
