Hi i have a 89 fastback..when i drive on the freeway my car just dies out. it still moves..to get it started i have to kick the clutch or shift it to 4th then bring it back to 5th for it to start again. i dont know what the problem is exactly.

my speedometer isnt working. so im guessing it might be that or not enough fuel is getting into the engine.

any suggestions?

if it were a fuel issue then it wouldnt matter what speed you were driving at when it dies, it would be an rpm issue and should do it at any speed depending on rpm. does the power surge in and out before dying?
