Hi all, i have a problem with my 03' g35's front power seat, it will not move backwards!! here is whats happening, i can move the reclining switch back and forth, seat lifter control is working and my switch to move the seat forward and backwards will only move forward... when i push the switch to the back direction it wont move back! my legs are cramping and i cant stand it any more!! i dont want to take it to infiniti if this can be a simple fix. anyone had such prob? is there a way to reset the the seat motor?

Sounds like a bad switch contact in the rear position? Is there a plug anywhere near the switch that could be loose?

You could take it to the dealer for a quote or sell it to a midget ?

Can you remove the seat and reset it on the track?

thanks guys for the replies..i checked the plugs leading to the switches and everything looks fine. I unplugged 3 different switches but wasn't quite sure what did what but did this in hope of resseting something, no luck. however i did do the whole unplugging thing while i had the battery disconnected. in case you ask why i had the battery disconnected, well i read somewhere here that unplugging certain cables from the drivers seat may deploy the airbag yall know if this is true?

G_whizz- see thats what has me real confused, i dont think is a problem with the motor also cuse other wise all other directions wouldn't function, well at least both the back and forth.

Rn79870- not quite sure how to do this, but guess what i'm gon be doing this weekend? yea ima take this sucka apart! i'm not going down without putting up a fight...i dont know but right now telcoman's idea of selling it to a midget does sound like a great one.

Sounds like the contact point on the switch that makes it go back. Take 2 needles and a strand of copper wire. You can bypass the switch and poke into the wires with the needles to make it go back (jumping from the hot wire to the wire that causes the motor to reverse). Get it set to where you want it, and you're set!

***EDIT***

let me check the FSM and see what I can find for you.

I FIXED IT! and i didn't spent a dime!!! took the center console panel off and was able to get to the screws that hold the switch divice. i took the switch plate off and messed arround with controls, well here is where the prob was, some how i must have spilled soda or something sugary that made it passed the ouside switch controls and made the inside stick together and this is what was causing the outside switch not to move the inside control - hope i made since, but anyways i'm a happy camper and best of all i can now drive around without my legs cramping. WOO-HOO!

COOL! Those are always the best fixes (free).

This reminds me of the time in my wife's QX4 where her seat motor went out and it only went 1 direction. But her's was luckily under warranty (I think it was a $200+ fix otherwise).

The Chicago midgets just lost out on another G

Glad you found the problem.

Keep in mind it's all just battery (12v) and ground.
