I recently bought a 1990 300zx and i found out one of the spark plug wires hasnt been connected and its been runin on 5 cylinders. I changed the plugs and connected the last plug wire. Now the car wont idle right. Either the car idles at like 300rpm and then stalls or its up at like 4000 and jumps around. I don know what the problem is. Please help. Someone told me i was the idle air control but i dont know what that is.

The car has no plug wires just coil on plug. You might have a vacuum leak on the balance tube or a vacuum line loose.

I assume when you say plug wires you are referring to the wires attaching to the individual coil on plug coil packs? in which case are you sure that that coil pack is good? how about the ptu?

Hey thanks for the info. Where exactly is the ptu and what exactly is it. Could it also be the IAC?
