ok i have a 1985 nissan 300zx 3.0v6 automatic.....and quite frquently u start the car and the motor will cut out at 2200 RPMS, like kills it right out then when the rpms drop it kicks back on....and the funny thing is when the car is going to cut out...you can tell b4 u even start it becuz the light ine the power transmission button will be off....when its lit the car runs fine.....i dunno im at a loss............PLEASE help

It sounds a little like the ecu is in "Limp" mode.

Yes, it does.

Some 280zx owners upgrade their ecu/efi harness with one out of a Z31.
