The internet is wonderful isnt it?

Anyways I might be getting a 240 SX 1988 or 89, can't remember.... Manual tranmission. I am wondering if there are anythings I should look for when checking this car out?

I currently own and drive (constantly) a 1993 Honda Accord LX 4 dorr automatic (blech).

Please give me a hand ^^

thanks

Its an 89....This is a single cam motor so if your not doing many engine upgrades, know that it is the Slightly slower of the 2 engines(about 10 horse at the crank on a brand new car, at this point some immaculatly maintined E's could be stonger then a neglected DE)Look for rust, and listen at the front of the engine for noise from the timing chain, which from what I have heard can be a far worse problem if present on Single cams. Other then the timing chain these are good cars and their arent to many major reoccuring issues to look out of , just the normal straight fraim rails/slipping clutch stuff that applies to every car
