I've got a `93 240SX SE (automatic transmission) that is shifting hard between first and second gear. I've searched the board for an answer to no avail. I've recently had the transmission flushed, and have of course checked the transmission fluid. It only has the problem between first and second gear.

Also, when I back up while turning the wheel to the right (i.e. backing up out of a parking space to the right) I will usually get a popping sound from underneath the car.

Any help is GREATLY appriciated! Thanks people!

Shift shock between first and second gear might be a result of not having the correct transmission fluid in the vehicle. Try Quaker State Import Special transmission fluid. A lot of transmission fluids are too thick to get into all the small passage ways in Nissan valve bodies. Try that QS fluid for starts nd see if the shock goes away.
