Ok. I know i have seen this before but cant remember how to do it and can't find where i saw it at. I have checked through the fsm and it shows every piece around it. and have checked in the tech articles thinking maybe it was there. thought it was in wal-mart fog light article but saw he just added another spot for the switch. I am trying to install a switch on the far right empty area and cant get it out to install the switch. I am working on a new project with my versa that i am not going to say any more about. will provide pics when it is done. I need to get it done this weekend as it is not drivable till i get it done. Someone please help me with this as quick as possible. i have tried pushing both ways on it but seems like something is holding it in and cant see any clips.

Thanks for you response. it was removable. I finally got it out. There is a clip on top of it that held it in place. Got it out and installed the switch. back to it tomorrow to finish my project. to late tonight.

No sir. want to make sure It all works good before I let it out. but should have it all done tomorrow and will post pics up when it is all complete. its nothing real big but is something ive always wanted to do and am excited to finally have it done. However I have been documenting all my steps so that I can provide a write up if anyone else wants to do it.

My goal is to insert a fog light switch in that spare position, add a relay so that I can have the fog lights used as DRL's. The parking lights are extremely weak on the Versa compared to my other vehicles. I am looking for a source for a nice looking fog light switch compatible with the blank slot.

This is the switch I did.

Had an led in there to light up when the switch is on to remind me since no dummy bell for this, but led caught fire. make sure to use a resistor if you decide to install led bulb. actually melted the inside of the led. took the led out and covered the hole with some electrical tape for now. switch is great though use it do do this.

Led back light for the lower grill and neon under glow. for some reason only the pass neon bulb is working. will have to check driver side to see if the wiring or bulb is the problem.

Lights look great!!
I would suggest to use power from a fuse like the power outlet so when the keys are out the lights are off. I learned this the hard way i had my fog lights connected directly to the battery(not sure if thats what you did) one day i left the lights on and had to ask for a jump.

sorry for the late response
buy a fuse adder/or circuit adder(like the on the link) at a part store (remember its a mini fuse ) then take on fuse out and just plug that adder in its place
the little red wire is power run in to your switch and you will be ok. If you want to add a relay i can draw a picture to help you as well. Good luck keep us posted/

thanks for this info. a little confused on how this works. so say i want to use the cigarette lighter fuse to power my lights. i put this piece where the cigarette lighter fuse goes. then i see what looks like 2 spots for fuses on it. im guessing one is to replace the original cigarette lighter fuse and the other will be for the fuse for the lights. Is this correct? Also i see this one says for a 10 amp fuse . I know the cigarette lighter fuse is 15 amp so I am guessing they make this in different size amp fuses or will this one work for 15 amp also? thanks for your help. gonna start looking for this piece pretty soon. may even get it off the site you provided.

"im guessing one is to replace the original cigarette lighter fuse and the other will be for the fuse for the lights. Is this correct?" that's correct there. I'm not sure about the amps the one i bought in auto zone didnt specify.

is that a sedan? I have a black sedan with beige interior . beige is a hard to find.

just found another site that explained this piece better. the 10 amp is the max amps to be delivered by the wire. not for the fuse for the cigarette lighter. so in other words the neon lights can only be 10 amps max. which is fine cause right now i have a 7.5 amp fuse in it. will prob change that to a 2 amp fuse see if it blows the fuse or not.

thanks for your quick response on this. i will definitely be getting this soon. will check auto zone and see if they have one.

no mine is a hatch. i definitely like the beige interior. i was planning on trading my 09 for a 2010 model but they did not have one with the beige interior so i stuck with the 09.

I thought the wire was rated for 10amps but didnt want to miss inform you. Good thing now is you dont have to worry about the battery

I like the interior too it looks a more like luxury (i think) but i preferred the black, cant complain i got a good deal on this one and im happy with it

just got that piece today. will hopefully get a chance this weekend to install it. that will be great to not have to worry about the battery anymore. i have hid headlights and 300 watt amp on battery also. but amp shuts off with car and headlights have a timer on them when car is off they turn themselves off after a while. so only thing i was worried about was the neons.

i agree the beige does look more luxury. been thinking about maybe adding a wood dash kit also. just a light color wood. think that will make it look even more luxurious.

just an update. did the rewiring for the power today. worked like a charm. the only thing i don't like about it is that the fuses are very hard to remove from the add-a-circuit. i also change the 7.5 amp fuse to a 2 amp fuse since the led lights in the front were rated for 2 amps.
