Im in a really jam guys, i had purchase a q45 front brake set (capliers, pads and rotors) from the junk yard for $43 total. There from a 1998, every where i look says to use 1990-1996 calipers. i have a 1993 240sx coupe btw. I was wondering if i can still use these, is there a really big diffrence between the 1990-1996 and the 1997-2001? Everywhere i look it mentions nothing thanks in advance guy i know you can help me figure this out.

why not try putting them on? or at the very least, take off a front wheel, and a rear wheel and have a looksie to see if it'll work.

I don't think those brakes work. People said to look for a 91-96 and yet you still got a 98? Baaad idea.

thanks for the insight guys.... ya i went to a friends shop and found out there two completely diffrent calipers, the 1997-2001 calipers looked revised and better than the older 1990-1996, im gona try and find a way to make them fit. oh and btw the calipers came off a 57,000 mile q45 thats why i pulled them off that q45 instead of the 250k+ milage older q45s out there. Wish me luck!

there's always ways of making different brakes fit... its just a matter of getting your hands dirty.

find out first if the caliper bolts up correctly. If anything, the most you'll have to do is make a bracket for it or something... then toss the rotor on and see if it centers itself between the pads correctly. Hopefully it will.

Yeah I am curious to see how this works out. Do those years use the backing plates too?
