I just love suspension noise! its like hide and seek!!!!stylistik wrote:This past weeked me and my dad were able to install my springs and it came out looking very nice. but when i took it out for a drive i started to hear a *gunk gunk* noises along with *cunk cunk* etc. from the front passenger side. we looked at it and we are sure we tighten every bolts... anyone have a theory to what could be causing this noise? my dad is a mechanic and he still isn't sure whats causing the problem...
Take a look at the Strut Master Bolt, and the three strut mount bolts. Generally these cause the most problem because the Master Bolts tend to be hard to tighten and the others are low torque bolts. BTW you should have approximately 3/8 inches of thread above the Strut Master Bolt, if you have less, you need to tighten.stylistik wrote:This past weeked me and my dad were able to install my springs and it came out looking very nice. but when i took it out for a drive i started to hear a *gunk gunk* noises along with *cunk cunk* etc. from the front passenger side. we looked at it and we are sure we tighten every bolts... anyone have a theory to what could be causing this noise? my dad is a mechanic and he still isn't sure whats causing the problem...
thanks for the advice i will be taking it apart in the morning, after driving today i think the noise sound like its coming from the sway bar... but i will re-check everything. all the other wheels seems fine. how much torque should i put?windhaven wrote:

After that check the control arm attaching the strut to the front sway bar.
If these don't work it's mechanic time.
