okay so yeah i took the J to get the strut replaced on it and they did that just fine then on the way home the check engine light comes on LOL NOW I KNOW it wasn't because they worked on the car just really weird timing just felt like being one of those guys that say they did this and know this doesnt work (thats for you dominick you said you love it when they say that) but any ways i checked the codes and it had three codes, knock sensor, fuel injector, and coolent sensor so i have replaced the coolent and the injector (WHICH BY THE WAY FUZZYCATS RULES ) no playing 45 minutes had the injector out okay now i was thinking the knock sensor was because the car was running like hell badly and i had to drive it home so i havent touch it what i am asking is there a way to erase the codes besides the unplug the battery for 24 hours i am now two days late i am to be driveing to texas and its looking bad i am with my dad working on it right now any thought ideas or prayers would be nice thanks lol

Oh yeah when i put the new stuff in it ran much better BUT there is still something ruff about it. I figured which injector it was by pulling the plugs on them till i found the one that had no effect on when unpluged. when i did find it i hit it with the Ohm meter and it showed nothing while the others were within 10-14

we figured how to clear the codes it showed 55 which is nothing wrong still running ruff so we took the car for a drive around the block and we are now only getting 34 Knock sensor so before i go and replace this thing i remember reading a way to bypass the sensor with some resistors to JUST SEE IF THAT IS THE PROBLEM i will replace if it shows to be the problem anyone one remember what size i think it was two 500 ohm resistors and do i put them were the plug is on top of the motor were the pig tail plugs in

well i cant say that ive heard of jus bypassing the sensor. but if your not sure of the ohms then it may not be the best thing to jus plug 1000 ohms to it (that is wat two 500's equal) any way if you find out wat size resistors check the ohm of the sensor and compare the figures. if the sens is off the numbers then replace it. if the resistors are parallel then itl be 16 ohm, series 1k ohms. good luck man hope ya fix it

Lol thanks for remembering.

Those damn mechanics, replacing struts and making the idiot light go off.

Anyhow, I believe the resistor was 1.5kohm but I would double check just to make sure.

Its hard searchin on this forum but Ill see if I can find it.
