Help please. Cluster swap issues.

I have an 89 hatch and I did my own SR20det swap. My tach and temp gauge stopped working after the swap so I did some research.. So now I know I need a DOHC gauge to replace the SOHC gauge. So I bought a JDM cluster and installed it.. plug and play?? No, I have the same issue. So I basically spent 80 bucks to convert my MPH to KPH... Sh*t is frustrating. Help anyone? I need it bad. Also I searched this also but cant find s***... What's the max gear speed in each gear? I have no f***in tach so I need to shift by speed not RPMs.
